I can say by now that we _will_ participate there - I got the confirmation
that we will be assigned a booth. However, its dimensions, geometry and
other details are not yet known at this point.

Wow, that's an impressive list - thank you very much for this generous offer!
I have no idea yet how much space for PCs and other equipment we will have,
but I think there should not be more than 2 PC systems. As we will be
producing some sort of noise^H^H^H^H^Hsound :-), there will have to be a
bit of "synchronization" between the systems(*), and with more than 2, things
might become complicated :-).

(*) sync as in:
{
        pthread_mutex_lock(&allowedtomakenoise);
        makesomesortofnoise();
        pthread_mutex_unlock(&allowedtomakenoise);
}

For now, I've just added you to my list of possible participants. I'll get
back to you when we know more details.

I don't expect that we need to carry tables or chairs there; last year
everything was provided by the "Messe AG". What might make sense, though, is
a keyboard stand, maybe a 19" rack to put some stuff into, and probably also
those cool "stand chairs" (I don't know what they are called, but they can
be seen on computers fairs a lot - they allow the person demonstrating
something to relax a bit but still be at the same height as the booth visitors
(that is, standing). I hope you know what I mean.. (oh, of course those
chairs would require "higher than normal" tables as well; another thing to
be determined. If that doesn't work out, we'll have to stick with standard
chairs).

Well, as the LinuxTag is a Linux fair :-), I don't expect we will be demo'ing
a lot of Windows software or plugins, but if it's on the PC anyway, it
won't do any harm. And, who knows, maybe there's a chance to gather some
create people to produce something at after-fair hours. :-)

I'm not sure in what "Watt" dimensions you are thinking, but the nearfield
speaker already sound quite appropriate to me - don't forget there will be
a lot of other booths/companies around, and they might become a bit irate if
we flood the entire fair with noise all day. :-)

Wow, even better.

Ok, this has to be determined first. Last year all of the bigger companies
had some security folks at their booth during after-hours; as for the open
source booths, I'm not sure, but I'll find out (and yes, I certainly would
also want my equipment there to be insured somehow).

Still better :-). I'll put a note into my "Todo" list: Spend that man an
extra beer..

Hmm..well, if you offer it :-). Speaking for myself, I'll be interested in
getting to know your studio - is that your private property, or a studio you
run for some company?

I'm not quite sure what exactly you expect from a whitepaper - so far I
see the following things that need to be done:

- an "abstract" for the LinuxTag organizers that explains, in a couple of
  sentences, what we are planning to show
- a leaflet to hand out during the fair which contains the most important
  topics demonstrated, links to project pages etc.
- hopefully a writeup of a talk someone would like to hold during the fair -
  that would probably mean putting together a demo on a laptop that can be
  displayed using an overhead projector. Volunteers welcome..

Is it this what you've been thinking of, or what else?

Yeah, I was missing that a bit as well, and that's why I came to think of
this. Though, I bitterly regret not having visited the Arts folks last year.

Again, any volunteers to knock at their door..? :-)

Thanks you - this really helps a lot, I appreciate it! Details will
follow as they become available.
