In fact, they did find a solution - it was Benno's idea to write a bunch
of zero's into some buffer before starting to record/play (not sure
here), and after they had patched Glame like that, the noise was gone as
far as I could see/hear.

It seems to be rather a problem of the buffer handling of ALSA compared
to OSS. If it's a bug or a feature, I'm not sure. Would be good here if
the Glameorous boys ;-), Benno and Takashi discussed this (directly?).

I sat at my radio on Saturday and taped that 30 minute show (which was
in fact quite interesting, talking about XML standards and other current
stuff), but there was nothing about the interview. Either it was
dropped, already sent last week (though I doubt) or would come
later...or, maybe much more likely, they just listened to the tape in
the studio and found they couldn't understand anything because of
a) the background noise
b) my hoarse voice
c) me talking to fast yet again :\

Oh well.

Btw, sorry for still not having written a report; I had some private
problems last week.

Frank
