... it's not a recorder nor a vu-meter, but can be used for both tasks.
And it's about as simple as it gets. Input="/dev/dsp",
output="somefile.wav" and then just press the "Start" button. ;)
And it has a very nice looking VU-meter written by Meinhard Ritscher
(KCorrMeter/KStereo)! :)
