i've seen the hammerfall pcmcia in action (on a mac G3 powerbook... but
im not necessarily reccomending a powerbook) which was very
impressive... :-)))

at the moment i'm running a refurb IBM thinkpad 600E which i got through
a dealer pretty cheap... it does very nicely for audio, just powerful
enough but not all that expensive (and probably cheaper in the US than
here in the UK)...
