hmmm ... might have a spare midi interface (you are in uk, right?) if you are into trying to get linux on there. although i just checked
and it won't run on a stock 1200 - you need a cpu upgrade/ at least a FPU chip. luckily i've got an 8 meg RAM/ fpu board =somewhere=, that i bought off an old man in portslade in 97. never used it cos it made octamed crash.
