I'm a little confused by the comment that adding [newbie] to a LAU
subject line is in some way unacceptable. I welcome the practice here,
and I urge newbies and lurkers to clearly indicate their status. I can't
believe that any of the long-time members of this list would be
offended, but it's definitely their problem if they are.
Every long-term member of the Linux audio world is simply an advanced
newbie (with the possible exceptions of Paul Davis and Takashi Iwai: I
believe they have the status of minor deities).
And IIRC, the Zen mind is the beginner's mind. Let us aspire to the
Zen condition... ;)
